1199 Career Pathways Scholarship Program

Geographic Scope: New York State

Overview:
The 1199 Career Pathways Scholarship Program covers the full cost of tuition for the CASAC Training Program at Outreach Training Institute (OTI) for 1199 members and some non-members.

Focus Area: Substance Use Disorder treatment professional development and healthcare workforce development

Eligibility:

• 1199 SEIU members (primary)
• Some non-members may be eligible
• Must gain admission into the CASAC Training Program at OTI

Service Requirement:

• Participants must commit to a 3-year service requirement working for a healthcare provider in New York State that serves a patient population of at least 30% Medicaid-reliant or uninsured

Award Details:

• Full tuition coverage for CASAC Training Program

Application Process

1. Apply to CASAC Training Program at OTI via https://opiny.org/casac-training/
2. Apply to 1199 Career Pathways Program via https://www.tefcpt.org/
3. Indicate Interest: Select the 1199 Career Pathways scholarship on your CASAC Training Program application
4. Admission: Gain admittance into the CASAC Training Program at OTI
5. Maintain Standing: Once awarded, recipients must demonstrate satisfactory progress towards graduation and CASAC credentialing

Service Obligation

• Commit to 3-year service requirement
• Work for a healthcare provider in New York State
• Provider must serve at least 30% Medicaid-reliant or uninsured patient population
