Naren Gupta (September 30, 1948 – December 25, 2021)

Naren Gupta was an Indian-American entrepreneur and venture capitalist. He earned a BTech in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (1969), an MS in aeronautics from Caltech (1970), and a PhD in applied mechanics from Stanford University (1974). He co-founded Integrated Systems Inc. in 1980, serving as president and CEO until 1994, and took the company public in 1990. In 2006, he co-founded Nexus Venture Partners, a Menlo Park-based venture capital firm, where he served as founder and managing director. Gupta was elected an IEEE Fellow in 1991, recognized as a distinguished alumnus of IIT Delhi in 1997, and named a Distinguished Alumnus by the Caltech Alumni Association in 2004. He joined Caltech's Board of Trustees in 2011.

Vinita Gupta founded Digital Link Corporation and was the first woman of Indian origin to take her company public in the United States. She serves on numerous for-profit and nonprofit boards and is an adviser to entrepreneurs and corporate leaders worldwide.
