External Affairs — Communications with industry, federal government, state and local policy makers, the media, opinion leaders, and the general public. Implementation of government relations policies, strategies, and plans approved by NEI and its members.
Legal — Monitoring regulatory issues affecting nuclear power.
Technical & Regulatory Services — Comprehensive management and policy direction and industry coordination for the resolution of a broad range of generic technical and regulatory issues affecting nuclear power.
NEI works on legislative and regulatory issues impacting the industry, such as the preservation of nuclear plants and used nuclear fuel storage. The association represents the nuclear industry's interests before Congress and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, produces research reports, and testifies at federal and state congressional hearings.
