Kirkpatrick Foundation Inc

The foundation's mission is to support arts and culture, education, animal wellbeing, environmental conservation, and historic preservation, primarily in central Oklahoma.

Primary funding areas include:

• Arts & Culture — Support for theater, dance, museums, film festivals, and exhibits that contribute to the cultural fabric of Oklahoma City
• Education — Funding for pre-K-12, university-level, and out-of-school programming, including arts programs in summer camps and continuing education for teachers
• Animal Wellbeing — A twenty-year initiative called "Safe & Humane" aimed at making Oklahoma the safest and most humane place for animals by 2032, including convening, honoring, promoting, funding, and researching animal welfare
• Environmental Conservation — Support for conservation efforts in the region
• Historic Preservation — Funding for historic preservation projects

The foundation also publishes artdesk, a free quarterly publication devoted to contemporary art, performance, and thought. The publication prints more than 82,000 copies per issue, with 40,000 copies inserted into weekly editions of The Oklahoman and Sunday editions of The New York Times. Additional copies are distributed to middle and high school visual arts departments in Oklahoma City Public Schools and mailed to all 50 states and six foreign countries.
