HEART OF ARKANSAS UNITED WAY SERVES OUR COMMUNITY IN THREE PRIMARY WAYS: WE INVEST IN PROGRAMS THAT MAKE A MEASURABLE IMPACT. WE WORK TO UNDERSTAND THE KEY NEEDS IN OUR COMMUNITY IN EDUCATION, FINANCIAL STABILITY, AND HEALTH, AND STRATEGICALLY FUND THOSE PROGRAMS WHICH ARE MAKING THE BIGGEST IMPACT. OUR COMMUNITY INVESTMENT COMMITTEE IS MADE UP OF TRAINED LOCAL VOLUNTEERS WHO REVIEW PROGRAMS AND THE AGENCIES THAT LEAD THEM TO ENSURE EVERY DOLLAR IS MAKING AN IMPACT. WE ENGAGE OUR COMMUNITY IN MEANINGFUL VOLUNTEER SERVICE. WE WORK ALONGSIDE COMPANIES AND COMMUNITY GROUPS TO DEEPEN OUR IMPACT IN OUR KEY FUNDED AREAS WITHIN EDUCATION, FINANCIAL STABILITY AND HEALTH. WE DEVELOP PARTNERSHIPS TO LEAD IN KEY INITIATIVES. WE WORK WITH OTHER NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, BUSINESSES, AND LOCAL SCHOOLS TO DIRECTLY ADDRESS COMMUNITY CHALLENGES.
