Arthur N Rupe Foundation

The foundation's mission centers on improving education at all levels, supporting authentic debate where all aspects of issues are revealed in a balanced exploration of facts, and supporting research and scholarly studies that achieve broad public dissemination.

The foundation currently fulfills its mission through grantmaking in the following primary areas:

Caregiving — Influenced by its founder's experience providing at-home care for a loved one with dementia, the foundation supports efforts to train and relieve family caregivers, who provide most of long-term care in the U.S. The foundation also provides support to nursing assistant programs at California Community Colleges to increase the number of professional caregivers in the workforce.

Debate — The foundation supports numerous projects that advance civil and reasoned public debate. ANRF-sponsored debates are non-partisan and accessible to a general audience, with the intention of educating audiences and exposing them to all sides of particular social issues. The foundation aims to increase the number of Americans actively involved in debate.

Public Policy — The foundation supports various national and state-based think tanks and freedom-oriented organizations whose scholars produce vital research affecting public policy and reaching broad, influential audiences. ANRF also provides support to public interest law firms that defend core Constitutional principles and adjudicate societal issues consistent with its mission.
