2023Alaska Airlines FoundationGirl Scouts of Hawaii (GSH) will deliver the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) to over 2,200 Girl Scouts ages 5-18 years old. This includes 485 Girl Scouts from low-income families that will benefit from the After School Leadership Program (ASLP). For approximately 28 weeks starting in October 2023, troops will meet up to twice weekly in age-delineated groups with a Troop Leader. GSH provides girls with access to high-quality educational programming and STEM learning opportunities that inspire them to enter STEM in higher education and future careers. GSLE is a program model used nationally and informed by rigorous research carried out by the Girl Scout Research Institute. GSLE engages girls in Leadership Journeys that involve them in decision-making and leadership activities, hands-on learning through an ongoing cycle of action and reflection, and cooperative work to promote fun, friendship, and teamwork that are integral to Girl Scouting.
