NOTE: Applications must be received by the applicant's local Zonta club's deadline. Zonta Club of Denver (ZCD), formed in 1927, was the first Zonta club between Chicago and San Francisco. Since then, the club has sponsored numerous other Zonta clubs in this part of the country, hosted two Zonta International Conventions, and contributed more than its share of members serving in Zonta’s District 12, which includes clubs in Montana, South Dakota, Wyoming, and Colorado. ZCD’s longest-lived service project was its sponsorship of Denver Girls, a partnership with Denver Public Schools that provided mentors and counseling for at-risk middle- and high-school girls. ZCD, with the Rotary Club of Denver and Ladies of Rotary, co-founded Denver Girls, and continued to support it for more than 30 years. Scholarships Zonta International is dedicated to achieving gender equality in education, and supports scholarships, fellowships and awards for women and girls pursuing education and careers in some traditionally male-dominated fields. The Zonta Club of Denver participates at the club level in the Zonta Young Women in Leadership scholarship program. Recognizing young women for their commitment to volunteerism, volunteer leadership achievements and dedication to empowering women worldwide. The Zonta Club of Denver winner will be awarded $1,000 and can be considered at the district/international level, for an additional financial reward of $5,000. The district/international winner will be announced on July 1.Eligibility
