The Fellowship Hi-Crest College & Career Scholarship fund helps students pursue education and career paths that lead to higher-paying jobs.

Eligible Uses:

Eligibility

• Academic Level: Students entering Sophomore year of high school through Freshman year of college OR first year of trade school in the Fall of 2025/2026
• Priority: Students currently attending Fellowship Hi-Crest Student Ministries
• Secondary Eligibility: Students who attend or recently graduated from a Topeka 501 school

Award Information

• Number of Awards: Typically 2 scholarships
• Award Amount: Estimated $400 each

Background & Context

The scholarship exists to address economic disparities in the Hi-Crest neighborhood, where:
• African Americans are expected to earn $19,000/year
• Hispanics are expected to earn $24,000/year
• 18% of households within a 10-minute drive of Avondale East live below the poverty line
