Young Investigator Prize in Basic Science

The Celiac Disease Foundation Young Investigator Prize in Basic Science recognizes the exceptional achievements of an investigator in the early part of their career conducting celiac disease research in basic science. The Prize is awarded annually in the amount of $10,000 USD and is presented at a Digestive Disease Week (DDW) reception sponsored by the Celiac Disease Foundation.

English is the official language for the prize administration, including the nomination process, deliberations, and associated materials as described herein.

Nominations

Nominations for the Prize Laureate will be made by members of the selection jury and by the celiac disease community at large through an open call for nominations. The prize is not open to application. Jurors are asked not to discuss or confer regarding potential nominees or actual nominations with other jurors prior to or outside of official deliberations. The Celiac Disease Foundation will coordinate directly with all nominees on all aspects of the nomination process.

Announcement of Prize Laureates

Coordination of the announcement of the Prize Laureate will be the responsibility solely of the Celiac Disease Foundation. The prize will be officially conferred upon the Prize Laureate at a DDW reception, or by similar ceremony. The Prize Laureate will be provided with two round-trip coach airfares and hotel accommodation for up to two nights.
