Young Investigator Prize in Clinical Science
The Celiac Disease Foundation Young Investigator Prize in Clinical Science recognizes the exceptional achievements of an investigator in the early part of their career conducting celiac disease research in clinical science. The prize is awarded annually in the amount of $10,000 USD and is presented at a Digestive Disease Week (DDW) reception sponsored by the Celiac Disease Foundation.
Nominations
Nominations for the Prize Laureate will be made by members of the selection jury and by the celiac disease community at large through an open call for nominations. The prize is not open to application. Jurors are asked not to discuss or confer regarding potential nominees or actual nominations with other jurors prior to or outside of official deliberations. The Celiac Disease Foundation will coordinate directly with all nominees on all aspects of the nomination process.
Announcement of Prize Laureates
The prize will be officially conferred upon the Prize Laureate at a DDW reception, or by similar ceremony. The Prize Laureate will be provided with two round-trip coach airfares and hotel accommodation for up to two nights.
Eligibility

* The Prize Laureate must be an independent investigator conducting exemplary research in clinical science in celiac disease.
* The Prize Laureate must have an MD, PhD, and/or equivalent degree(s) and hold a faculty position for less than 10 years.
* The prize will be awarded based on actual research contributions, not for the establishment or development of a research institution or research infrastructure, and awarded solely on the significance of their work to an area of research in celiac disease.
Ineligibility
* To avoid the appearance of conflict of interest, employees of for-profit pharmaceutical or biotechnology companies will not be eligible.
* Prior Prize Laureates are not eligible for nomination, but prior nominees who were not selected in previous award cycles may be nominated in subsequent award cycles with no limit.
* Previous recipients of the Warren Prize for Excellence in Celiac Disease Research or the Maki Celiac Disease Tampere Prize are not eligible for nomination.
* Any person writing a nomination is prohibited from making unsolicited contact with jurors.
* Violating this rule will result in the withdrawal of the nomination.
