Young Givers Giving Circle Grants

Overview: A giving circle made up of individuals ages 18-40 that focuses its philanthropic efforts on assisting nonprofits, faith communities, and individuals in the Chattanooga area.

Geographic Scope: Chattanooga area

Focus Areas:

  • Support for nonprofits

  • Faith communities

  • Individual needs

  • Past focus areas: education, support for single moms in college, entrepreneurial programs for inner-city teens, pregnancy resource services, therapy for veterans
  • Membership:

  • Ages 18-40 (or "young in spirit")

  • Minimum contribution of $50 per month for one year, renewing annually
  • Grant History:

  • First grant awarded November 2019: $3,000 to MOMentum Network

  • Since November 2019, committed $18,000 to support nonprofits

  • Quarterly grants of $3,000 have supported: The Momentum Network, Archway Kids, Choices Pregnancy Center, Freedom USA, and Trousdale School

  • Members have spontaneously raised additional funds for disaster relief efforts
  • Additional Activities:

  • Quarterly Lunch & Learns featuring community leaders

  • Education on generosity and generous living
