Overview

TGT's Disaster Relief Fund

Overview: Special fund established to respond to disasters and community emergencies. The fund was originally established after the devastating 2011 tornados in the Chattanooga area. Reactivated to respond to April 2013 Easter Sunday tornado affecting East Brainerd Community.

Geographic Scope: Chattanooga area

Focus Areas:

  • Assisting families and individuals affected by disaster

  • Supporting local evangelical churches serving those in need

  • Meeting physical and spiritual needs of disaster victims
  • Recipients (Easter Tornado Response):
    First round grants to five area churches: Calvary Chapel, City Church of Chattanooga, Covenant Presbyterian, The Crossing, and Woodland Park Baptist

    Status: Multiple rounds expected; churches serve as intermediaries to distribute funds to affected families and individuals

    How to Support/Give:
    Donors can:
    1. Log into DonorCentral
    2. Select New Recommendation
    3. Select TGTCCCF as the recipient charity
    4. Enter "Disaster Relief Fund" in Grant Purpose
    5. TGT will conduct internal transfer from donor's fund to the Disaster Relief Fund
