Overview: Recognizes Young Farmers & Ranchers who have excelled in their farm or ranch and have honed their leadership abilities to superiority.

Geographic Scope: South Carolina

Eligibility:

Individuals or married couples between ages 18-35

Actively engaged in farming and earn majority of income from owned production agriculture operation

Participants involved in production agriculture with majority of income subject to normal production risks

What They Evaluate:

Excellence in management

Growth and scope of enterprise

Self-initiative demonstrated throughout farm or ranch operations

Awards:

Top 3 Finalists receive:

- $1,000 cash
- One-night stay at 2025 SCFB Annual Meeting in Myrtle Beach (December 5, 2025)
- One-night stay at 2026 SCFB YF&R Conference in Charleston (February 7, 2026)

• Grand Prize Winner receives:
- $35,000 toward purchase of Ford truck of choice (Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company) - Opportunity to represent South Carolina Farm Bureau at American Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Leadership Conference in Portland, Oregon (March 13-15, 2026) - One-night stay at SCFB Annual Meeting in Myrtle Beach (December 4, 2026) to be highlighted as 2026 winner - Required opportunity to compete at 2027 American Farm Bureau Annual Convention in Charlotte, NC (January 8-12, 2027)
