Winston-Salem Foundation The Winston‑Salem Foundation is one of the oldest community foundations in the United States—established in 1919 with a donation of $1,000. Over the past century, it has partnered with donors, nonprofits, educators, and community leaders to invest permanently in the people and places of Forsyth County, North Carolina. The Foundation supports charitable giving, manages donor‐advised and endowed funds, and awards grants and scholarships to strengthen the region’s educational, social, cultural, and economic infrastructure.
