Women's Impact Fund Grant

The Women's Impact Fund Grant aims to provide significant financial support to nonprofits in Mecklenburg County, NC, focusing on five key areas: Arts & Culture, Education, Environment, Health, and Human Services. The grant emphasizes trust-based philanthropy, promoting equity and accessibility while addressing community disparities. Grants range from $10,000 to $100,000, with applications evaluated based on member votes and overall grant pool size. This year, the fund is offering unrestricted operating support to enhance organizational resilience.

Our grantmaking process has two purposes. First, to make high-impact grants to local nonprofit organizations. We continue to lean into trust-based philanthropy principles and aim to conduct a fair, transparent grantmaking experience.
Program Areas
Women’s Impact Fund makes annual grants in five program areas. Nonprofits must choose in which program area to apply.

Funding
Grant applications, member vote, and the grant pool size determine recipients and grant amounts. Grants for can range from $10,000 to $100,000. Unlike prior years, WIF is not asking applicants to request a specific funding amount.

Eligibility

Applicants must qualify as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, either individually or under the auspices of a qualified fiscal agent or sponsor.The organization must be located in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina and/or the majority of the clients you serve must be located in Mecklenburg County. If your organization is part of a state or national organization, you should focus your application and submitted financial information on Mecklenburg County, NC.This year grants will be for unrestricted operating support.

Ineligibility

Confirm your organization is not a fraternal organization, capital or endowment campaign, or organization that requires or teaches particular religious beliefs in order to receive services.
