Overview

Women Investing in Nebraska Since its creation in 2011, Women Investing in Nebraska (WIN) members have pooled their gifts to grant more than $1.9 million to 24 University of Nebraska and Nebraska nonprofit projects. This collective giving group seeks out bold, innovative projects addressing issues of importance to Nebraskans and makes two grants each year through a member-driven vetting and voting processes. WIN operates in partnership with the University of Nebraska Foundation and the UNF Charitable Gift Fund to support women philanthropists through education, engagement and empowerment. Grants Women Investing in Nebraska awards two grants each fall, equally dividing members’ gifts between a University of Nebraska project and a Nebraska nonprofit (501(c)3 public charities). While projects can address any issue of importance to Nebraska, WIN seeks out projects that offer bold, innovative solutions to urgent issues in our state. WIN awards will fund projects that meet at least one of these criteria: Does this respond to an urgent and critical need?Is this a bold new venture?Does this offer a new approach to an ongoing problem? Funding WIN’s grants are awarded in the fall and are based on membership gifts made in the previous one-year period, July 1 to June 30. An applicant can expect around $100,000.
