Women and Girls of Color Fund The first of its kind in Arizona, this new fund focuses on the sustainable growth and positive outcomes of organizations serving our state’s most marginalized communities: women and girls of color. This fund provides unrestricted, general operating funds for organizations led by and serving women and girls of color in Arizona. We know that organizations doing the work are best equipped to make decisions specific to their needs for improving outcomes for the women and girls they serve. Goals The WFSA Women and Girls of Color Fund is designed to support organizations led by and serving women and girls of color with capacity building, community connections, and operational support. WFSA strives to make grant making accessible, culturally informed, and intentional through a community-led approach. Shaped by community dialogue and research, this fund also addresses the unique needs and circumstances of organizations serving women and girls of color including a lack of visibility, safe spaces, and representation. Who Should Apply Organizations in Arizona led by and serving women and girls of color are encouraged to apply. This includes organizations that serve trans-women, nonbinary and gender non-conforming people of color.Eligibility

Eligibility requirements:Limited to Arizona organizations led by and serving women and girls of colorHighest leadership position must be held by a woman of color75% of the organization’s decision-making must come from women and girls of colorThe ability to demonstrate that 75% or more of its service population is comprised of women and girls of color.Ineligibility
The Women’s Foundation of Southern Arizona does not provide funds for individuals; campaigns to elect candidates to public office; capital fund drives; debt reduction; endowments; fund-raising events or one-time conferences or workshops; scholarships; fellowships or tuition reimbursement; programs inconsistent with federal, state, and local non-discrimination statutes regarding equal employment opportunity; programs that promote religious activities; programs outside of Southern Arizona; individual classrooms or schools.Focus Areas & Funding Uses
