We HIGHLY suggest you submit your application before the deadline in case of any technical difficulties. The Foundation encourages grant requests that: Fall in line with the WKCF mission statement - "Enriching Western Kansas life through philanthropy, leadership, and collaboration."Will have a broad impact on the quality of life for a large number of people within the WKCF service area.Propose ways to address community issues and problems.Leverage other sources of support.Stimulate others to participate in addressing community issues.Are innovative, a new initiative, or an enhancement of an existing program.Are responsive to changing or emerging community needs.Are sustainable over time.Are collaborative with other organizations for a broader impact. Women of Purpose Grant Guidelines The Women of Purpose have identified the importance of numerous issues that impact females as the grant focal point for the 2023 Women of Purpose Request for Proposals. and as such, encourage applications from any organization that provides programming with an emphasis on females, or that impacts females in significant and sustainable ways. In an effort to achieve the greatest impact, proposals should support the Women of Purpose vision and mission as stated below. Through facilitated conversations with the Women of Vision Founders, the Executive Committee has determined the following area(s) of interest that may be given extra consideration if included in your application submission: Focus on any and/or all of the following aspects of female leadership or mentorship: health, education, finances, employment, etc. Additional consideration will be given to those organizations which can: Demonstrate collaboration among organizations and agencies Invest matching funds Provide a plan to sustain the program past the grant year Support work in several communities and counties serviced by the Western Kansas Community Foundation: Greeley, Wichita, Scott, Lane, Hamilton, Kearny, Finney, Stanton, Grant, Haskell, Gray, Morton, Stevens, Seward, and Meade.Eligibility

The Foundation restricts its support to 501(c)(3) or other exempt organizations/groups or the government equivalent (i.e. public schools, city/county/state entities, churches, etc.), who serve Kansas counties which are also served by the Western Kansas Community Foundation.These counties include Finney, Grant, Gray, Greeley, Hamilton, Haskell, Kearny, Lane, Meade, Morton, Scott, Seward, Stanton, Stevens, and Wichita County.Ineligibility
Organizations that are awarded a grant are not eligible for the next grant cycle unless the funds have been expended, AND, all final reporting has been completed.The Foundation will not give consideration to:Grants to individuals Capital campaigns Medical research Internal studies or research (i.e. Studies conducted by the applicant organization are not eligible. Studies conducted by a third-party for the applicant, such as impact studies, or a study to help form a strategic plan, are eligible.) Educational scholarships or fellowships Membership fees Ticket sales for fund-raising efforts Religious organizations for religious purposes Capital debt reduction, including construction or real estate loan payments Political lobbying, advocacy, or legislative activities Endowment establishment or enhancement Umbrella funding of organizations that would distribute requested funds at their own discretion Give-away items for prizes/incentives Projects that discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, physical ability, or political preferenceFocus Areas & Funding Uses
