Wilson Ornithological Society Research Grants

The Wilson Ornithological Society offers research grants for various ornithological studies, funding requests up to $4500. Encouraging proposals below this amount, the Society aims to support innovative research in bird studies. Special consideration is given to Masters students, with two awards specifically allocated for their projects.

Each year, the Wilson Ornithological Society offers four categories of research grant. The focus of each differs somewhat, as does the amount of the award. Willingness to report results of the research as an oral or poster paper at an annual meeting of the Wilson Ornithological Society within the next five years and provide a brief write-up and a photograph of the awardees for the webpage is also a condition of all grants.
Multiple research grants for any area of ornithology are awarded in this category. Funding requests are considered for budgets up to $3000. Requests for budgets below $3000 are encouraged, if appropriate for proposed research. Two of these awards will be limited to research by Masters students and two of these awards will be limited to research by undergraduate students.
