The Society for the Teaching of Psychology (STP; Division 2 of the American Psychological Association) announces its awards program for outstanding teachers of psychology. Consistent with our Mission Statement and the Statement on Addressing Systemic Racism and Inequity in STP, we encourage applications from colleagues who are from underrepresented groups and have diverse backgrounds and experiences. Teaching awards of $1500 and a plaque are bestowed for outstanding performance in six categories, including the Wilbert J. McKeachie Teaching Excellence Award (Graduate Students). The Wilbert J. McKeachie Teaching Excellence Award recognizes teaching excellence for graduate students who are currently teaching or have taught in the spring or summer terms of the previous academic year. The Wilbert J. McKeachie Teaching Excellence Award is based on the following four criteria: (1) demonstrated influence in interesting students in the field of psychology, (2) development of effective teaching methods and/or teaching materials, (3) outstanding performance as a classroom teacher, and (4) concerns with professional identity as a teacher of psychology. Applicants will not be expected to have achieved recognition in all four criteria. More information on supportive evidence for these criteria can be found here.Eligibility
