Summary
The Keynote Presenter Grant Program by the Society for the Teaching of Psychology aims to support presenters from diverse backgrounds who coordinate gatherings for psychology educators. With a total funding of $9000 distributed among six recipients, each presenter can receive up to $1500 for travel expenses. The program encourages applications from underrepresented groups and provides an opportunity for equity in educational presentations while adhering to the mission of promoting excellence in teaching and learning.Overview
STP Mission Statement The Society for the Teaching of Psychology promotes excellence in the teaching and learning of psychology. The Society provides resources and services, access to a global collaborative community, and opportunities for professional development. It endeavors to promote equity and social justice for teachers and students of psychology with marginalized, racially minoritized, and intersecting identities. The Society also strives to advance the scholarship of teaching and learning; advocate for the needs of teachers of psychology; promote diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the teaching and learning of psychology; foster partnerships across academic settings; and increase recognition of the value of the teaching profession. Purpose STP's Keynote Presenter Grant Committee (formerly the Conference Speaker Grant Committee) is now accepting applications for the spring round of funding. Consistent with our Mission Statement and the Statement on Addressing Systemic Racism and Inequity in STP, we encourage applications from colleagues who are from underrepresented groups and have diverse backgrounds and experiences. Amount of Funding Available Each year, STP provides $9000 total in funding spread among six grant recipients in the amount of $1500 per presenter/conference. This money will provide travel reimbursement for the presenter, and the conference will be expected to fund (or waive) the presenter’s registration. Please note that STP may fund a presenter for more than $1500 travel reimbursement when special circumstances exist (e.g., international presenter, necessary accommodations). Applicants may submit for either or both deadlines; if an applicant submits for the October deadline and is unsuccessful in securing funding, they may resubmit for the April deadline, provided their conference is scheduled for some date after that April deadline.Eligibility
