Mission: Provide funding to selected local non-profit charities whose activities strive to improve the lives of both children and adults in the Treasure Coast community, with special interest in organizations less able to secure funding from other sources.

Background

Wheels & Keels was conceived by Vero Beach residents as a means to introduce a concourse-style car and boat show to the area and distribute proceeds to local charities. The first show was held in 2009 at The Moorings Yacht and Country Club. Since inception, the foundation has distributed over $700,000 in grants to local non-profit organizations. The Two-Day Annual Fundraising Weekend includes a Friday evening Reception, Dinner and Live Auction, and Saturday Antique & Exotica Car & Boat Show.

Eligibility Requirements

• Must have: 501(c)(3) IRS tax-exempt status
• Must be based in: Indian River County or Treasure Coast, Florida
• Must complete: Wheels & Keels Foundation Inc. Grant Application
• Must provide: Video or detailed information about the organization
• Must state: Amount of funds requested with detailed explanation of how funds will be used

Selection Process

• Applications reviewed by Wheels & Keels Board in November
• Approximately 10 local charities selected as grant recipients for the coming fundraising year
