Program Description: Competitive grant program that funds innovative projects and initiatives led by teachers and students across the district. This year marks the second year that students themselves are invited to submit their own grant proposals with guidance from a teacher or school advisor.

Innovative classroom projects that go beyond traditional budgets

Hands-on, engaging learning experiences

Projects aligned with curriculum standards and School/District Improvement Plans

Student-led initiatives

Award Amount: $60,750 (part of $70,750 total commitment; $10,000 dedicated to Cooke School Grants)

Evaluation Criteria:

Innovation or unique approach to learning/teaching

Kind and level of impact on classroom, teachers, and students

Alignment with curriculum standards and School/District Improvement Plan

Eligibility:

All district employees (teachers and staff)

Students (with teacher/advisor sponsorship)

Historical Impact:

Nearly $300,000 awarded directly to teachers for innovative programs

Past funded projects include: Learning Alive Journals, Engineering Design through City X Project with 3D Printing, "At Home Gym" PE programs, Second Step materials, Google Expedition Field Trips
