West Elk Community Fund Grant

The West Elk Community Fund Grant supports nonprofit organizations in Hotchkiss, Paonia, and Crawford, with a focus on addressing food insecurity and enhancing volunteer engagement. Established in 2018, it has allocated over $117,000 to local nonprofits. Eligible applicants must have IRS Tax Exempt status and be compliant with Colorado's laws. The grant aims to foster community development and support vital services in the North Fork Valley through collaborative efforts and financial assistance.

West Elk Community Fund (WECF) grant funding is available to organizations that primarily operate within the three communities we serve (Hotchkiss, Paonia and Crawford). This funding is made possible from WECF’s community grants endowment and from generous donors in the North Fork Valley.
Since its establishment in 2018, the West Elk Community Fund has distributed $ 117,415 in grants to nonprofits in North Fork Valley.
For the 2025 Grants Process, WECF is particularly interested in hearing from organizations applying for funds to address food insecurity in the North Fork Valley and/or are strategizing ways to increase volunteer engagement.

Eligibility

Applicants must be a registered nonprofit organization with a current IRS Tax Exempt status. See more information and guidelines for grants to churches, schools and other charitable, tax-exempt organizations.
Organizations should be registered and in good standing with the State of Colorado and be in full compliance with Colorado’s Charitable Solicitations Law.

Ineligibility

No grants will be made to individuals.
