Weaver Foundation Grants

The Weaver Foundation Grants support agencies in the Greater Greensboro area, focusing on education, youth programs, environmental protection, poverty alleviation, equity, social justice, urban open spaces, and economic development. While they do not accept unsolicited applications, letters of inquiry are welcomed. The foundation does not provide funding for individuals, partisan programs, or travel-related expenses, and funding decisions occur quarterly, allowing for multi-year commitments when necessary.

Grant Guidelines
Foundation grants are limited to agencies and organizations located in and serving the Greater Greensboro area. Grant decisions are generally made on a quarterly basis at our regular Board of Directors meetings. While we do not accept uninvited grant applications, we will accept letters of inquiry and we are happy to discuss our interests with organizations that meet the basic guidelines.
We have no bias for or against any particular grant type. We will support endowment funds, capital campaigns, facilities and construction funds, new initiatives, special projects and general operating expenses.
The Foundation avoids creating any expectation of long-term support; however, this does not preclude multi-year funding commitments when appropriate.
Weaver Foundation staff seek out programs that further the Foundation’s mission to make a positive difference in the community.

Eligibility

Your organization must meet one of the following criteria to be considered for funding:Located in the Greater Greensboro area and serves the citizens of Greensboro primarily.Is not located in Greensboro but serves or plans to serve citizens through programs in Greensboro.Program delivery is not in Greensboro but a large percentage of clients are from the Greater Greensboro area.
