We Energies Foundation Grants

The We Energies Foundation Grants support community development, health services, arts, education, and environmental initiatives. They prioritize projects from qualified 501(c)(3) organizations located within their service areas, aiming to foster relationships that yield lasting community benefits. Funding is restricted to one grant per organization per year, with a preference for supporting specific projects rather than general operating expenses. Overall, they encourage innovative approaches to enhance community well-being and cultural enrichment.

We Energies Charitable Giving
We Energies supports initiatives for community and neighborhood development, health and human services, arts and culture, education and environment. The company matches its employees’ charitable giving to those initiatives and also conducts an annual workplace giving campaign for the United Way. Financial support is limited to the activities of nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations in communities served by We Energies. Most of the charitable support is through the We Energies Foundation, funded by stockholders of WEC Energy Group.

Pursue a sustained, consistent approach to funding within the focus areas, better enabling the organizations to achieve lasting results.
Foster mutually beneficial relationships between our subsidiaries and community organizations.
Arts and Culture
We support projects that promote diversity and make the arts accessible to all people. This includes theater, dance, music and museums.
Community and neighborhood development
Communities become stronger when neighbors work together. We support nonprofit organizations dedicated to community improvement.
Environment
We also support others' efforts for the betterment of fish and wildlife, water and air quality, forests, energy efficiency, renewable energy and recycling.
Health and human services
We support programs that serve limited-income, senior and handicapped individuals, and those emphasizing wellness.

Eligibility

Eligible projects/organizations are: Qualified charitable, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization, per Internal Revenue Service Code guidelinesLocated in a community served by We EnergiesFocused on one of our funding areas:Community and neighborhood development
Education
EnvironmentWhile United Way supported organizations are excluded for general operating support, they are eligible to apply for a project, program or capital campaign and event sponsorships.We rarely provide operating funds to individual United Way agencies that already benefit from our donations to United Way.An organization only will be eligible to receive funding once per calendar year. That means that you have an option of submitting multiple proposals knowing that only one will be funded or submitting a single proposal that combines the projects.Some exceptions may be made when an organization hosts multiple divisions or departments, or when the projects target different areas of focus.

Ineligibility
