WASPC Traffic Safety Grants

The WASPC Traffic Safety Grants provide funding for law enforcement agencies to enhance traffic safety initiatives. Agencies can apply for specific traffic safety supplies, including lidar and radars, with maximum award amounts clearly outlined. Eligible applicants must demonstrate participation in statewide traffic initiatives, while ineligible requests include those for replacing existing equipment. This funding aims to prioritize traffic safety enforcement and improve community safety through targeted efforts.

Traffic safety grants are now available to law enforcement agencies.
Please refer to the list below for information on maximum award amounts per unit for specific traffic safety supplies. (NOTE: Tax and shipping can be included in the request up to the amount allowed per unit.):

• Lidar: $3,000Radars, including Rear Antenna: $2,300Handheld Radars: $1,000Field Sobriety Test (FST): $600Scanner (SECTOR): $350Printer (SECTOR): $450

Eligibility

Agencies must demonstrate participation in statewide traffic initiatives or show a local focus on traffic safety. Applications must include a problem identification statement, outlining the issue and explaining how the requested items will help address it.

Ineligibility

Please note that requests to replace existing equipment will not be approved.The grant will only cover the approved grant amount; any costs beyond the awarded amount are the responsibility of the agency.
