Overview: Planning grant to create innovative multi-generational approaches to increasing post-secondary credential attainment and workforce connections for students and families.

Geographic Scope: Washington State (first cohort regional awards; example: Kiona-Benton City area)

Focus Areas:

  • Post-secondary credential attainment (apprenticeships, certifications, two-year technical degrees, four-year college degrees)

  • Student and family engagement in career pathways

  • Workforce development connections

  • Multi-generational education engagement

  • Out-of-school youth re-engagement
  • Eligibility:

  • Regional collaborative teams including:

  • - Education organizations
    - Labor and workforce development organizations
    - Business and community partners
    - School districts
    - Community colleges
    - Universities
    - Skills centers
    - Workforce development councils

    Program Goals:

  • Increase direct enrollment in post-secondary programs

  • Engage adults (younger parents and family members) in education

  • Support completion rates for credential-seeking individuals

  • Build strong regional partnerships

  • Address family-wage career requirements for 2030
  • Award Status: First cohort selected 6 teams from more than 80 applicants statewide
