Overview: Planning grant to create innovative multi-generational approaches to increasing post-secondary credential attainment and workforce connections for students and families.

Geographic Scope: Washington State (first cohort regional awards; example: Kiona-Benton City area)

Focus Areas:

Post-secondary credential attainment (apprenticeships, certifications, two-year technical degrees, four-year college degrees)

Student and family engagement in career pathways

Workforce development connections

Multi-generational education engagement

Out-of-school youth re-engagement

Eligibility:

Regional collaborative teams including:

- Education organizations
- Labor and workforce development organizations
- Business and community partners
- School districts
- Community colleges
- Universities
- Skills centers
- Workforce development councils

Program Goals:

Increase direct enrollment in post-secondary programs

Engage adults (younger parents and family members) in education

Support completion rates for credential-seeking individuals

Build strong regional partnerships

Address family-wage career requirements for 2030

Award Status: First cohort selected 6 teams from more than 80 applicants statewide
