June & Robert Wanish Fund for the Arts
Overview: The June & Robert Wanish Fund for the Arts was established in 2003 with a vision to encourage and support the enjoyment, appreciation and growth of the arts in communities.
Background: June Wanish, a native of Roseville and the first woman mayor of Roseville, was instrumental in implementing programs that brought cultural arts to the community. In the early 1960s, she led a small group that in 1966 formed "Roseville Community Projects, Inc." to bring arts to the community. The organization eventually transformed into Blue Line Arts.
Geographic Scope: Roseville and South Placer region
- Primary Focus: Blue Line Arts Children's Programs
- Supports scholarships covering 50-100% of registration fees
- Covers workshops, camps, and after-school programs
- One time use only per session
Fund Goals & Focus
- For children in the Roseville and South Placer region
- Contingent upon available scholarship funds
Eligibility
- Parents can reapply up to 4 times per calendar year
- Incremental 25% decrease per additional session within same year: - 1st session: 100% - 2nd session: 75% - 3rd session: 50% - 4th session: 25%
- When calendar year ends, parents can reapply with student eligible for 100% again
