Overview

Art at Work

Overview: Blue Line Arts operates the Art at Work program to create exhibition opportunities for local artists by connecting them with businesses in the greater Placer County and Sacramento regions.

Purpose: Promote emerging artists in the region while providing an enhanced aesthetic environment to local business members. Art displays rotate quarterly at each location.

Geographic Scope: Greater Placer County and Sacramento regions, California

Program Details:

  • Curated selection of work with Blue Line Arts handling scheduling, installation, and sales processing

  • Works displayed on consignment using gallery tracks for hanging

  • Quarterly rotations at multiple locations

  • Artist receptions available at some venues
    • Sales & Commission

    • Artwork encouraged to be for sale
    • Artist receives 75% commission on sales
    • Blue Line Arts receives 25% commission
    • Blue Line Arts processes all sales and is responsible for sales tax

      Installation

    • Blue Line Arts representative assists with installation
    • Artist responsible for removal on scheduled pickup date with BLA assistance
    • Works are not transported to or stored at Blue Line Arts

      Eligibility

    • Open to all artists 18 and older
    • If selected artwork differs significantly from submitted image, artist will be disqualified
    • Artist responsible for all shipping costs
    • Must include prepaid label (FedEx or UPS only, NO USPS) for return if desired
    • Two-dimensional artwork must be ready to hang
    • Wire must be installed; no sawtooth hangers

    1. Submit Online Application

    - Must be 18 years or older to apply

    2. Artist Notification
    - Ongoing process
    - Selected artists will receive email inquiry about availability

    3. Required Information
    - Submit images of artwork for curation review
    - Artist must be prepared to provide inventory list with labels for installation
