From the endowment, the Foundation makes grants to a broad range of nonprofit organizations in the region. There are more than 160 funds at the Foundation devoted specifically to scholarships. About the Scholarship Program Since 1945, The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving Scholarship Program has awarded nearly $30 million to students attending colleges in Connecticut and across the country. The Hartford Foundation Scholarship Program helps award hundreds of scholarships each year to local students seeking post-secondary higher education. Villano-ebbo Scholarship Fund Vin Villano, a native of Wethersfield who now lives in West Hartford, wanted the opportunity to give back to the region he calls home. As an entrepreneur, Vin is delighted to support local students who have a strong desire to pursue higher education. This fund supports students who are interested in technology or entrepreneurship. Eligibility

Selection CriteriaGraduating high school senior who lives in or attends high school in one of the 29 towns in the Greater Hartford region. Entering a 2-year or 4-year college/university, pursuing an undergraduate degree on a full-time basis. Have achieved academic success in high school and shows promise of continued academic achievement at the college level. Need financial aid in order to attend college. Have been involved with volunteer, community service, and/or extracurricular activities. Are interested in technology or entrepreneurship.
