Overview

UWNCO Community Relief Fund

Overview: United Way of North Central Ohio established the Community Relief Fund to support local social services in response to the COVID-19 crisis and its consequences. The fund enables swift and strategic response to community needs.

Geographic Scope: Crawford, Marion, and Wyandot counties, Ohio

Focus Areas:

  • Emergency shelter services

  • Emergency food and household necessities

  • Workforce support

  • Services for seniors including meal delivery

  • Mental health services

  • Childcare for essential workers

  • PPE and emergency supplies for health departments

  • Other COVID-19 relief and pandemic-related response efforts
  • Eligibility:

  • Non-profit organizations in the tri-county area

  • Organizations responding to COVID-19 outbreak and its consequences

  • Organizations whose abilities to continue missions are threatened by the pandemic
  • Application Process:

  • Applications accepted on a rolling basis with no deadline

  • Evaluated every 60 days by Ad Hoc Allocation Committee (beginning May 1)

  • Award decisions and funding follow evaluation periods

  • Grant application does not guarantee funding

  • Awards made only so long as funds available in the Community Relief Fund

  • Applicants who received funds may reapply if programming focus shifts

  • Total: $27,225 across three counties

  • Crawford County: $10,250 (7 grants)

  • Marion County: $11,000 (6 grants)

  • Wyandot County: $6,000 (3 grants)
