    Grants are decided by a community-led panel of UWBA Ambassadors with lived experience facing housing insecurity in the region. The UWBA Ambassadors Council consists of diverse Ambassadors who have participated in one or more of UWBA's funded programs as clients, staff, or volunteers with lived experience and expertise in UWBA's issue areas.

    Background:
    This grant program exemplifies UWBA's effort to center community voice in grantmaking decisions. The panel includes 7+ UWBA Ambassadors representing the communities most affected by housing insecurity.

  • 2022 Round: $250,000 total to be announced (9 grants totaling $250,000 reported in 2023 materials)

  • 2023 Round: $250,000 total (9 grants totaling $250,000)
  • Ambassadors Program Details:
    Ambassadors serve as a sounding board, offer ideas, speak at events, and contribute to UWBA's value of centering community voice in work. Ambassadors receive a stipend for their hard work.
