Community Grants
United Way of Forsyth County invests in strong nonprofits because strong nonprofits build strong communities. Each year, we distribute funds raised through our annual campaign to local organizations whose programs align with our focus areas: Youth Opportunity, Healthy Community, Financial Security, and Community Resiliency.
Funding Tiers:

• Tier 1: Community Impact Grants; Tier 2: Capacity Building Grants
• Tier 2: Capacity Building Grants
• Maximum Award: Up to $75,000 annually, totaling up to $225,000 over a 3-year period
• Grant Term: Up to 3 years (renewed annually based on performance)

Purpose: Builds long-term organizational capacity (e.g., infrastructure, evaluation systems, leadership development)Ideal for: Organizations looking to grow internal systems, sustainability, or community impact

Eligibility

Applicants must:Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or operate under a fiscal agentServe residents of Forsyth and/or Dawson CountyDemonstrate alignment with at least one UW impact areaHave the ability to track and report on project outcomes

Ineligibility

Not use funds for political/lobbying purposes, construction, debt reduction, or general fundraising events
