UCEMC Cares Grant Program

Program Funder: Upper Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation (UCEMC)

Geographic Scope: Upper Cumberland region served by UCEMC (Jackson, Overton, Putnam, and Smith Counties in Tennessee, and northern DeKalb County, with fringe areas in Clay, Fentress, Macon, Pickett, White, and Wilson Counties)

    UCEMC Cares is a member-funded grant program. UCEMC members can voluntarily round up their monthly electric bills to the nearest dollar, with the extra funds distributed to local nonprofits and community organizations.

      Program Impact

    • Since 2014: $2,250,092.28 contributed to local organizations
    • Funds support projects that:
    • - Feed families - Support students - Expand community programs - Meet urgent community needs

    Membership Participation

    Members who participate round up their bills (e.g., $87.60 bill rounds to $88.00; the $0.40 difference goes to UCEMC Cares).
