U.S. Hillman Prize for Magazine Journalism Grant

The U.S. Hillman Prize for Magazine Journalism, awarded by the Sidney Hillman Foundation, recognizes outstanding journalism that serves the common good. Open to global journalists, it requires works to be published in English and accessible to a U.S. audience within the past year. Hillman Prize winners will be awarded a $5,000 honorarium and a certificate at our annual ceremony to be held in New York City.

Eligibility

The contest is open to journalists globally, although work must have been widely accessible to a U.S audience. Reporting must have been published in English in the last calendar year. You may nominate your own work or someone else's.You may apply on your own, or be entered by your outlet/organization. There is no limit to the number of entries one outlet may make. The foundation will continue the SEIU Award for Reporting on Racial and Economic Justice.All Hillman Prize entries will be automatically considered for this award as well.If you write for a digital only-outlet, use your best judgement as to whether it fits better in the Newspaper or Magazine category. Please do NOT enter the same work twice in two different categories.
