TSF Community Grants
Overview: The Tegan and Sara Foundation provides microgrants to community-led 2SLGBTQ+ organizations in the US and Canada to funnel support to those who need it most and create a capacity-building network of organizations whose work is often missed.
Background: Launched in 2020 as a rapid response to queer organizations affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, multiple rounds of funding have been dedicated to Black-led organizations, trans youth-serving organizations, organizations serving 2SLGBTQ+ survivors of intimate partner violence, and more.

- Projects and initiatives meeting the needs of the LGBTQ+ community
- Youth-led initiatives and organizations
- Small nonprofits with annual operating budgets under $300,000
- BIPOC-led initiatives
- Trans-led initiatives
- Organizations addressing systemic racism, police violence, legal counsel, policy development, and mental health services
- Projects addressing immediate community needs through digital resources, online spaces for art, positivity and conversation
Focus Areas
- Organizational: 2SLGBTQ+ community-led organizations and small nonprofits
- Budget: Annual operating budgets of less than $300,000
- US-based: Must have IRS-determined 501(c)3 status or be fiscally sponsored by a 501(c)3 organization
- Canada-based: Do not need charitable status, but organizations with charitable status or fiscal sponsorship will be prioritized
- Preference: BIPOC, trans, and/or youth-led initiatives
Eligibility
- Small grant ($1,500-$5,000) disbursed quickly
- Institutional knowledge, resources and guidance from the Tegan and Sara Foundation
- Cohort of fellow grantees for networking and mutual support
- Spotlight on work via Tegan and Sara Foundation social media
