Overview: The TRUE grant program was established to support the creation, expansion, or redesign of workforce education and training programs in high-demand fields. Panola College was one of 29 schools across Texas to receive this grant.

Purpose: Funds enable Texas public community and state technical colleges to develop and provide short-term certification and workforce programs in consultation and partnership with workforce stakeholders, creating pathways to employment.

Panola College Project:

  • Enhance CDL (Commercial Driver's License) program in Marshall by adding simulation training and improving driver efficiency

  • Accelerate student learning in this high-demand occupation

  • Provide micro-credentials such as OSHA10 and PEC SafeLand training to increase employability
