Our Texas, Our Future H-E-B Trees for Texans is a long-term investment in the future of all Texans. As trees grow and mature over time, their benefits extend through generations creating a legacy of sustainability and stewardship for future generations to enjoy. Trees For Schools Grant Texan by Nature and H-E-B have partnered to fund native tree-planting projects that reduce the urban heat island effect in our communities and schools. Through this program, a school near each new H-E-B store that opens will receive funding, expert assistance, and more. We’re engaging the next generation of conservationists and cooling the community by planting native trees at schools near new H-E-B stores. The program also provides teachers with FREE tree curriculum booklets full of fun and engaging TEKS-aligned science activities!Eligibility
You can learn more about this opportunity by visiting the funder's website. Using GIS technology, schools are selected based on their distance from a new H-E-B store and ranked by the average surface temperature (using satellite thermal data) surrounding the school.
