Overview

Trauma-Informed Practice Fund The Fund for Greater Hartford invites organizations that work directly with children to develop trauma-informed practices in their workplace. Examples of items that can be covered in the request: Travel for trainer(s)Materials Lodging for trainer(s) Refreshments/food Room reservation Per diem rate to cover staff absences Trainer fees Funding Grant requests cannot exceed $5,000. Up to two grants may be awarded per calendar year per applicant.

Eligibility

Applicant organizations must be tax-exempt under IRS Code section 501(c) 3 or have a fiscal agent/sponsor that is a 501(c) 3.A group of organizations that meet the criteria may participate in the training together.If the application is on behalf of a partnership or collaborative of organizations, it is recommended that the application be completed togetherApplicants must demonstrate:They directly serve a culturally diverse population of children Have leadership buy-in and support Staff has a willingness to participate in the training The ability to effectively implement trauma-informed care practices Use of evidence-based trauma-informed best practices throughout the organization They have or are creating physically and psychologically safe and secure environments They can develop and sustain a trauma-informed workforce They address secondary traumatic stress/compassion fatigue among staff Training will be conducted by a professional trainer in this area. It is highly recommended that the application be completed in partnership with the chosen trainer.The training must:Contain an interactive role-playing component to the selected model Be part of a series of trainings and not a stand-alone, and/or one-time event Have an evaluation componentThe Fund will consider applications from organizations and collaborations supporting children from the following communities with priority emphasis on Hartford, New Britain and Middletown:Andover Avon Bloomfield Bolton Canton CromwellEast Granby East Hartford East Windsor Ellington Enfield Farmington Glastonbury Granby Hartford Hebron Manchester Marlborough Middletown New Britain Newington Rocky Hill Simsbury Somers South Windsor Suffield Tolland Vernon West Hartford Wethersfield Windsor Windsor Locks
