Program Overview

The Traditional program provides financial assistance to BGE residential customers who do not qualify for the Power of One (single-parent households) or Silver Lights (60+ or critical medical needs) programs. This is the standard utility assistance grant program for qualifying households.

Eligibility Requirements

Must be a BGE residential customer
Do NOT qualify for Power of One or Silver Lights programs
Must currently have no power in home OR be in receipt of a turn-off notice from BGE
Must have made at least four separate payments to BGE utility account over the past year (quick multiple payments in succession do not count)
Have NOT received a financial grant from the Fuel Fund in the last 365 days
Understanding that Fuel Fund accepts a limited number of applications each day and daily limits may be reached

6. Receive Confirmation: You will receive a confirmation email when your application is received

7. Wait for Review: Allow up to 5 business days for application review (do not submit duplicate applications during this period as it will cause delays)
