Program Overview

The Fuel Fund may provide bulk fuel assistance to qualifying households age 60 and older who use bulk fuel for heating (oil, propane, kerosene, or pellets). This program is designed for seniors and can assist households outside the BGE service territory.

    Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be 60 years of age or older
  • Must use bulk fuel for heating (oil, propane, kerosene, or pellets)
  • Must be nearly or completely out of bulk fuel
  • Application period: November through March (heating season)
  • Have NOT received a financial grant from the Fuel Fund in the last 365 days

How to Apply

1. Verify Eligibility: Confirm you meet all eligibility requirements for the Bulk Fuel Assistance program:
- Age 60 or older
- Use bulk fuel (oil, propane, kerosene, or pellets) for heating
- Nearly or completely out of fuel
- Applying between November and March
- Have not received a grant in the last 365 days

2. Access Application: Click the link on the Get Help page to go to the application page

3. Complete Online Application: Submit required information through the online application portal at fuelfundmaryland.org

4. Required Information:
- Personal/household information
- Age verification (60+)
- Type of bulk fuel used
- Current fuel status
- Email address for communication

5. Submit Application: Once completed, submit the application

6. Receive Confirmation: You will receive a confirmation email when your application is received

7. Wait for Review: Allow up to 5 business days for application review

8. Receive Decision: You will be contacted via email with the review results
