Overview

TowerCares Foundation Scholarship Program

Overview: Annual college scholarship program for STEM and Foreign Language Linguistics majors. TowerCares invests in the next generation of STEM leaders throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Up to 40 scholarships of $5,000 each are awarded annually. Since 2018, over $700,000 in college scholarships have been awarded.

Award Amount: Up to 40 scholarships at $5,000 each

Geographic Scope: Mid-Atlantic region with specific eligibility requirements

Eligible Majors:

  • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)

  • Foreign Language Linguistics
  • Eligibility Requirements:

  • Current high school seniors or college freshmen, sophomores, or juniors

  • Enrolled or planning to enroll in STEM or Foreign Language Linguistics major

  • U.S. citizen

  • Meet at least ONE of the following:

  • - Reside in Maryland, District of Columbia, Pennsylvania, or Virginia
    - Tower Federal Credit Union member or immediate family member of a member
  • Attending an accredited two- or four-year college/university full-time for the current academic year

  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 (or equivalent)

  • Not a previous TowerCares scholarship winner

  • NOT a TowerCares Foundation or Tower Federal Credit Union employee, board member, committee member, or their immediate family members
  • Special Consideration: Children/dependents of active-duty U.S. military and Veterans from all branches of the Armed Forces (including Reserve and Guard units)

    Award Use: Scholarship must be used for tuition and tuition-related expenses at accredited two- or four-year colleges/universities. Award checks are made payable to the college or university.

  • Work experience

  • Statement of career and educational goals and objectives

  • Additional consideration for children/dependents of active-duty military and Veterans
  • Application Period: April 1, 2026 through May 15, 2026

    Administration: Program administered by International Scholarship and Tuition Services, Inc. (ISTS) to ensure impartiality. ISTS assesses all applications and recommends recipients for final approval. Selection decisions are final.

    - Complete the entire application form
    - Provide all required information
    - Submit before May 15, 2026 deadline
