The SCALE Fellowship Program

Overview: A comprehensive fellowship program designed to advance and support Black women in the music industry. SCALE offers a curriculum building entrepreneurial acumen and music industry knowledge, with tools, resources, and community to enhance artistic practice and career building.

Target Population: Black women musicians and music artists

Program Intents:

Create an affirmative space for Black women musicians to connect, learn, grow, and collaborate

Invest significantly in Black women musicians

Increase the quality of work output by Black women musicians

Provide a platform to showcase Black women musicians

Enhance entrepreneurial skill sets and business acumen

Establish a more connected creative entrepreneur community

Contribute to developing an inclusive and elevating local music ecosystem

Program Components:

Comprehensive curriculum building entrepreneurial acumen and music industry knowledge

Workshops from industry experts

Individual mentoring sessions

Strategic planning support

Tools and resources for career advancement

Community connection and collaboration opportunities

Program Design: Designed by Black women in music for Black women in music, with team including musicians, researchers, program design experts, facilitators, and industry professionals.

Alumni: Program has graduated 23 fellows since launching in 2021 with 8 initial artists
