The Rolex Explorers Club Grants aim to empower young explorers under 35 by funding their innovative field research. Awarded historically at $10,000, the program seeks to foster exploration and conservation worldwide. The Explorers Club, a prestigious organization, supports grantees from diverse disciplines. Note that proposals for work in China are not accepted due to regulatory compliance.

The Rolex Explorers Club Grants sends extraordinary young explorers into the field and promotes the significant role that exploration plays in addressing cutting-edge scientific questions, understanding our environment and the world we live in, and learning more about our history to protect our future.
This program is open to all field science disciplines. In addition to demonstrating a spirit of exploration, candidates must put forward a project or research proposal that has a clear scientific rationale, represents original work, and has the potential for significant impact or new understanding.
Historically, awards have been given in the amount of $10,000.

Eligibility

Focused on young explorers under the age of 35 who are conducting field research to address a novel scientific, environmental, or historic question.Each grant requires two written recommendations.How do we define Field Science for Explorers Club Granted Expeditions?Field science consists of expeditions that collect data in order to add to the scholarship, or knowledge in a given discipline, bound for peer reviewed publication.Relevant disciplines include, but are not limited to – anthropology, archaeology, wildlife, botany, earth sciences, marine and freshwater research, ecology, geography, paleontology.

Ineligibility

China Restriction: The Explorers Club will not be able to consider research proposals for work being conducted in China or by Chinese citizens. The Explorers Club is considered a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) and we do not comply with the Chinese regulations regarding grant awards by NGOs at this time.
