  • School Pantries
  • Kids Café sites
  • BackPack Plus Programs
• One in six children in central Pennsylvania face food insecurity
• Programs provide fresh and nutritious food plus nutrition education materials
• Funds programs serving children living in communities in need
• Programs must take place during out-of-school time
• Second cycle of regional grants (first cycle awarded 180 grants totaling $4+ million)
• This cycle awarded 233 grants totaling $5+ million

Programs must serve children grades K-12 and improve quality of life in Rite Aid communities. Programs and projects must:

• Take place during out-of-school time
• Focus on three primary KidCents areas: healthy eating, active living, and education
• Priority given to programs supporting communities in need
