The PB&J Fund Grant

The PB&J Fund, established by the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation, aims to empower children and families through culinary education and improve access to nutritious food for under-resourced community members. By valuing respect, learning, caring, and collaboration, the Fund seeks to foster food sovereignty within the City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) organizations and public schools, with an emphasis on innovative proposals that address food insecurity.

Eligibility

The PB&J Fund will focus on proposals affecting populations living within the City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County. Applicants must be a 501(c)(3) organization, governmental or religious entity, or fiscally sponsored by a 501(c)(3) organization. Organizations may only submit one application, unless the organization is a public school. All eligible organizations are welcome to apply regardless of if they have previously received funding from the Community Foundation.

Ineligibility

The following requests are ineligible for funding: Replenishing reserves or endowments Reimbursing expenses already accrued

501(c)(3) organizations, governmental entities, religious organizations and fiscally sponsored groups serving the City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County; public schools may submit multiple applications. One-year grants up to $25,000 or two-year grants up to $50,000 total.
