Overview

About Us For over 30 years, Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee (CFMT) has been driving meaningful, positive change in our community. We do this by bringing together those who want to help and those who need help. Through the power of collective philanthropy, our goal is to amplify donor intent while remaining flexible enough to ensure that resources are directed to where they can do the greatest good. We know the greater Nashville area. We understand its neighborhoods, its most pressing challenges, its unsung nonprofit heroes, and its emerging partnerships with the greatest potential. As our region continues to rapidly change, that knowledge gives us a unique vantage point to bring people and places together to do what none of us can do on our own—build a more thriving and inclusive community. Mission Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee strives to build a more thriving and inclusive community — today and for generations to come — by transforming thoughtful generosity into positive change. The Lowell Hill, Virginia Wilson Hill and Pegine Hill Memorial Scholarship Fund The Lowell Hill, Virginia Wilson Hill and Pegine Hill Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in 2022 by Virginia Tameron Hedge to honor the legacy of her grandparents, Lowell & Virginia (Wilson) Hill and her mother, Pegine Hill. Virginia Wilson Hill was a lifelong teacher. Subsequently, her diverse interests meant she was forever a student as well, who always said that an education is one thing no one can ever take away from you. Along with Tameron’s grandfather and mother, they each brought a unique magic into the world through education, community service, music, the fine arts and historic preservation. Continuing the pursuit of these lifelong passions informs the intention of this scholarship. It is Tameron and her family’s way of continuing to honor and love the community that has been their home for over 150 years. This fund is a renewable scholarship that will be awarded annually to a Middle Tennessee student, specifically the 40 counties served by the CFMT, with a preference given to students from Bedford or Williamson County.
