The HOPE Foundation Fund
Overview: The HOPE Foundation Fund provides grants to Big Spring ISD teachers to enhance learning opportunities for their students. HOPE stands for Help Our Pupils Excel.
Eligibility: Big Spring ISD teachers
Purpose: Grants fund creative educational projects and special initiatives that enhance student learning when regular funding is unavailable.
History: Founded in August 2015 by Ken McIntosh (former Big Spring ISD Trustee) with leftover funds from a Bauer Elementary fundraiser. The fund was named by Virginia Miller, a lifelong dedicated educator and BSHS teacher, who left $100,000 to the HOPE Foundation upon her passing in August 2020.
Recent Awards: In 2022, the HOPE Foundation awarded $38,840 in grants to eight Big Spring ISD teachers.
